Job Description:
In partnership with the First Nations Technology Council, NVIT anticipates a requirement for term instructors to deliver the Foundations in Innovation and Technology program in various locations throughout BC. The schedule for the delivery of six courses (60 hours each) within a twelve-week program will be determined in consultation with community partners. It is projected that there will be 18 deliveries of the program over a three year period.

FITC 120 Communications Officer

Requirements / Qualifications
Communications Officer: comfort and familiarity using MS Office suite, experience creating promotional materials, familiarity with various social media tools & content management systems (ie. WordPress).
Web Developer: hands-on experience using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript & jQuery, familiarity with basic web design, best practices & SEO.
Software Tester: familiarity with principles & practices of quality assurance, direct experience in QA testing preferred.
Network Technician: hands-on experience in hardware & software installation, system updating, network maintenance, security best practices. CompTIA certification, or equivalent, preferred.
Resource Technician: hands-on experience using GIS mapping software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS, strong background in geospatial concepts & data management, competence with SQL queries
All applicants must:
- demonstrated ability to work independently;
- possess a Masters degree in related field or possess equivalent education and experience;
- have Aboriginal community experience;
- have post-secondary teaching experience (with Aboriginal adult learners preferred);
- have knowledge of classroom teaching and learning practices; and
- knowledge of Aboriginal culture
