In today’s digital age, coding and logic-based skills are becoming increasingly in-demand across industries and a benefit to entrepreneurs wanting to build their own web presence. Our Web Development course is designed for Indigenous learners who want to deepen their knowledge of web development using JavaScript.
Each week throughout the course, learners will build on their understanding of coding logic and best practices, including skills such as variables, conditionals, functions, arrays, loops, objects, and more. These daily hands-on activities lead to a capstone project where learners will demonstrate their skills by building a web application.
This bridging-level course will also prepare you for our advanced Futures Web Development course.
Job titles typically held by professionals with these skills include Web Developer, Webmaster, Web Designer, and more. There are approximately 6,000 professionals working in this field in BC, earning between $16.73 and $48.08 an hour. The job outlook for the field is good due to economic expansion and the replacement of retirees.
This course is funded for Indigenous Peoples ages 18+ living in BC.
Equipment and technology required for this course is provided.
